Serious Illness and Grief Support Programs for Churches and Faith Communities

"Throughout my ministry I have tried to organize outreaches in parishes where I served--with very mixed results. How nice it is to finally have such a wonderful program and to receive so many heart-felt thank you cards."

"I recommend Consoling Grace as an excellent program whose mission helps provide Christ's compassionate love to those in need of comfort."

- Fr. Oliver Duggan, Pastor, Assumption Church

The Need:

Serious illness and grief can be extraordinarily difficult. The isolation and pain of an illness or grief can be frightening; the feeling that we're losing control can seem devastating. The kinds of support we need most - physical, emotional, and spiritual - are all too often lacking.

Most faith communities provide excellent pastoral care and community service. Staff and volunteers visit the sick and bereaved, bring them spiritual support, and provide for material needs when possible. But the sheer volume of sick and needy parishioners, and the acuity of their needs, can sometimes leave even the best of staff and volunteers feeling overwhelmed and under-prepared.

The Solution:

We at Consoling Grace offer education and training for church staff and volunteers, and illness and grief outreach programs.

God's Glory:

Through a shared ministry, parishioners and members of faith communities can serve one another with love and glimpse God's glory in each other.
